Showcase: a whole season in one drop
Translating one episode is a task. Translating a season is a project — and the failure mode isn't any single episode, it's the disagreements between them. Episode 2 calls the ship the Windrunner, episode 9 calls it the Wind Chaser; the honorific one translator kept, another dropped. Binge-watchers notice within a night.
So batch translation in Langelic isn't a loop that runs the single-episode tool N times. It's one job that happens to have N files.
The drop
Our demo batch uses open-content films from the Blender Foundation (CC-BY) standing in for a season — the same flow works for S01E01.mkv through S01E12.mkv:
- Drag the whole folder in. Videos and subtitle files both work; from video, your browser extracts only the audio — the video files never upload.
- Pick the language (or two — dual-language exports work per-episode in a batch too).
- One cost estimate for the whole batch, up front, before anything runs.
What "one job" buys you
Shared memory across episodes. Recurring character names, invented terms, catchphrases, and places are tracked across the batch the same way our novel run tracked them across 110 chapters. The name pinned in episode one is the name in the finale.
Per-file timing, untouched. Each episode's subtitles keep their own timestamps — batch translation never re-times your files, so every episode stays in sync with the exact release it was made for.
A season back, not a zip of surprises. Every episode exports in the format it arrived in (SRT stays SRT, ASS keeps its styling), named to match its video file so players pick them up automatically — see our VLC guide for the same-name trick.
The practical numbers
A typical drama episode's subtitle file translates in a few minutes, and a batch runs episodes concurrently — a season is an evening's wait, not a weekend's. You pay for the translation work used, per episode, from the same balance; the free daily allowance covers a taste of it, and there's no subscription to start or cancel.
