We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address and a hashed password, used for authentication.
• Payment information — card details are collected and stored by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Media metadata — filenames, stream information, and subtitle data you upload or generate through the service.
• Usage data — operation counts, token usage, and costs, used for billing and service operation.

What we do not do

• We will never sell your personal information.
• We will never share your personal information with third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
• We do not use your content to train AI models.

When we may disclose information

We will only disclose your information if compelled by law — for example, in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or government request that we are legally required to comply with. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before doing so, unless prohibited by law.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Langelic:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• AI model providers — we send subtitle text and audio to third-party AI services for transcription, translation, and OCR. Only the content necessary for processing is sent. We do not send your account details or personal information to these providers.
• Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused, cookieless web analytics. No personal data is collected.

Data retention

Your media, subtitles, and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your media at any time. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
